Master Gunnery Sergeant Antwaun M. Gibson
Senior Enlisted Advisor Communication Directorate

Master Gunnery Sergeant Gibson, a native of Georgetown, South Carolina, reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina in November 1997 for recruit training.  Upon graduation, Private Gibson reported to Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training.  He then reported to Defensive Mapping School Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where he completed entry-level training as a Combat Lithographer.

In September of 1998, PFC Gibson reported to 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan where he served as a Combat Camera Production Specialist and was later promoted meritoriously to Lance Corporal.  In September of 1999, Lance Corporal Gibson reported to the 2nd Navy Annex in Arlington, Virginia, serving as a Reprographics Specialist.   He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in April 2000 and later served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC).  In 2002, he was stationed at Marine Barracks Washington D.C. and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  After serving as the NCOIC for the Reprographics section, he was appointed as the Platoon Sergeant for the Logistics Section.  Sergeant Gibson attended Ceremonial Drill School and held several ceremonial billets.

In June of 2005, Sergeant Gibson received orders to 2d Marine Division Combat Camera as the Reprographics Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge.  He later deployed to Al Asad, Iraq with Regimental Combat Team 2 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He returned in 2006 and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He later deployed to Fallujah, Iraq with Regimental Combat Team 6 where he served as the Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC) of Combat Camera from January 2007 to February 2008.  In September 2008, SSgt Gibson received orders to the Defense Information School as a Basic Multimedia Reprographics Course instructor Fort Meade Maryland.

In June of 2009, he received orders as the Senior Enlisted Advisor at Marine Detachment Fort Meade, Maryland.  He was promoted to rank of Gunnery Sergeant in December 2009.  In June of 2012, he received orders to the Pentagon for service with Headquarters Marine Corps Combat Camera, Washington D.C., serving as the SNCOIC.  In September of 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant and reported to 2d Marine Air Wing Cherry Point and served as the SNCOIC of 2d MAW Combat Camera.  

In January of 2016, he reported to Naval Support Activity Bahrain as part of Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade as the SNCOIC of Combat Camera and Public Affairs.  In May of 2017, he reported to Headquarters Support Battalion, H&S Co Quantico VA as the Combat Camera SNCOIC.  In August of 2018, he was promoted to the rank of MGySgt and reported to the Marine Detachment Ft. Meade Maryland as the Senior Enlisted Advisor.  In September 2021, he reported to his current assignment at Headquarters Marine Corps, Communication Directorate. 

Master Gunnery Sergeant Gibson’s personal awards include (2) Meritorious Service Medals (4) Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

Communication Directorate
